Harlequin Glorybower
It is a highly branched large shrub that can reach a height and width of 4 meters. The branches are hairy and the deciduous leaves are up to 25 cm long, triangular in shape, and dark green in color, with a hairy underside and a characteristic milky smell. It blooms between July and August with white star-shaped flowers grouped in large, intensely fragrant corymbs, reminiscent of jasmine. The autumn fruits are round berries, non-toxic, pea-sized, enclosed in a lantern-shaped calyx that is initially green and then becomes cardinal red upon opening, finally turning blue-violet.
