Holm Oak
Quercus ilex, commonly known as the holm oak or holly oak, is an evergreen oak species in the Fagaceae family. It is native to the Mediterranean region and can grow up to 20-30 meters tall. The holm oak has a dense, rounded crown with leathery, oval leaves that are dark green on the upper side and gray-silver on the underside. The flowers are inconspicuous and unisexual, with the male flowers in hanging catkins and the female flowers solitary or in small clusters. The fruits are acorns, up to 2 cm long, which mature in the autumn.
