California Fan Palm

The California palm (Washingtonia filifera (Rafarin) H.Wendl. ex de Bary) is a palm native to Southern California, southwestern Arizona, and northern Mexico. Under optimal conditions, it can grow up to 25–30 m tall. The leaves have a petiole up to 2 m long. It can withstand temperatures down to -10/-12 °C and is one of the hardiest palms for temperate climates, even tolerating snow as long as it's not too heavy.
