The refuge is a panoramic balcony over Lake Como, located at 1380 m above sea level on a grassy slope at the foot of Mount Grona.

It can be reached by foot starting from Breglia, above Menaggio, with a walk of about 1 ½ hours following the mountain path indicated by the red and white marks.
